This is the oldest hotel in Florence, already in the 1300’s, it was an inn well known to Italian and foreign travellers. It is a medieval palazzo of three floors, 71 rooms, and two elevators, in a historical setting: lead-framed windows, chandeliers, golden mirrors, antique furniture, huge lounges, and in the guest rooms, beamed ceilings and giant wardrobes. The old staircase, the welcoming dining room used for breakfast, the rooms all different one from the other, the furnishings – furniture, rugs and period ornaments. Guests as distinguished as Stendahl, Lord Acton and Balzac stayed here in the 19th century. The location is a two-minute walk from the Piazza Signoria and the Uffizi Galleries. All rooms are with private facilities. Pets welcome.
